Assemblywoman Heidi Kasama enters the race for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District Will focus on Education, Economic Development, and Public Safety

Assemblywoman Heidi Kasama today announced that she will run for Congress in Nevada’s Third Congressional District. Kasama is in her second term in the Nevada State Assembly. 

Kasama commented: 

“Serving the State of Nevada in the Assembly has been an honor. I’ve dedicated my time in Carson City to working for a better future for Nevadans and to be a voice for bipartisan, common-sense policies.

Today we see more crime, higher living expenses, and uncontrolled health care costs. Students are graduating with a lack of basic education and are unprepared to enter the workforce. There is a basic lack of accountability and personal responsibility. This is not the American way of life I grew up with. I will fight hard to change the direction of our country for the sake of my grandchildren and all Nevadans.

What motivates me the most to run for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District is to do my part in helping Nevadans achieve their own American Dream. I am the daughter of immigrants from Norway. My husband is an immigrant from Japan. Through hard work and grit, we built our American Dream. Every American deserves that opportunity.

Throughout my career, I have never been afraid to roll up my sleeves and work across the aisle to produce real results for the people of Nevada. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about Susie Lee, who is a reliable vote for Joe Biden’s failed agenda of inflation, taxes, and government overreach. Nevadans deserve better.”

About Assemblywoman Heidi Kasama:

Heidi Kasama started her professional career as a certified public accountant, but in 2001 became a full-time real estate agent. She went on to start her real estate brokerage in 2004, which quickly rose to 80 full-time agents. Kasama has served as President of the Nevada Realtors and the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors.

Kasama was convincingly elected to the Nevada State Assembly in 2020 and reelected in 2022 in Assembly District 2. 

Heidi lives in Summerlin with her husband, Peter. They have five daughters, multiple grandchildren, one dog, and two cats.
